How Do I Prepare for Senior Portraits?
Senior portraits can be the highlight of your senior year and will be something you cherish for the rest of your life because the senior year of high school can be a very important year for most people. However, sometimes when luck is not with us, our school portraits can turn out to be a disaster.
There are a number of things that can go wrong – bad hair day, food stuck in our teeth, wearing the wrong outfit, etc.. There are a few things, however, one can do to prevent such occurrences from happening and those have been listed below. If you keep these in mind before you senior portrait, you may be able to get a picture that you can cherish forever and show off proudly to your grandkids because you look so good in it. However, getting a good portrait photo is a benefit of Olympus OM-D E-M10 which should be used for portraits.
- Several outfits
One way to prevent a weird outfit is to bring a few different options. At times, we do not realize that one outfit may look good at home, but might not look the same in the lighting of the camera. Also, one outfit may look appropriate at the time, but might not be. When you have various different options available, you can easily swap out the outfits in a go and get the perfect portrait you want. It also gives you options to choose from when you feel like your outfit doesn’t match your mood and helps you feel confident in the photo.
- Keep it simple
If you overload yourself with accessories and clothes, then the picture will become too crowded and will not look as good as you would have hoped for. If you want a good, classic senior portrait, go for something that is visually appealing as well as something that is simple like a collared shirt or a style that accentuates your neck. Go for a simple hairstyle that compliments your face. Keeping it simple will help make you the centerpiece of the picture and look attractive.
- Makeup
Most girls may go a little overboard with makeup as they would want to accentuate their features or feel that makeup does not show up on camera. However, this is not the case. Makeup does show up on camera and if you overdo it, it would show. Keeping your makeup simple with products that only highlight your natural features instead of adding more to your face will make your picture look the best.
- Glasses
Girls that wear glasses should avoid taking a picture in glasses because of the glare. When you use flash or have strong lighting around the camera, glare will show up in your glasses. This will lead to a reflection in them and your eyes will be hidden while the background will show. This is why it is important that you take off your glasses for the picture or if you want to have your glasses on, then you wear them in softer lighting so there is no glare covering up your eyes.
